Is Satanism Hidden in Children’s Cartoons?

Lately here at Daily Bit of Truth, we have been not posting as often. Part of the reason is we are run by one small team who have busy lives outside of Daily Bit of Truth. But on top of that, we have been doing research for a new book we’re working on about Islamic healing (known as ruqya). Well, in our research, we were shocked how often black magic is shown on kids’ television shows. We just could not stay silent about this and had to share what we found.

For those unaware, black magic is an act of polytheism. It takes one out of the fold of Islam instantly. But it’s not the kind where you may worship statues or humans. It’s where you engage in acts of worship of the ultimate enemy of God: the devil! The accursed Satan! The one who swore the misguide mankind until the Day of Judgment.

How is black magic an act of satanic worship? Simple: when one does it, they invoke demons or spirits (known in Arabic as the jinn) to do something for the one doing the black magic. So rather than pray to God, you’re praying to demons. And while this may be something viewed as atrocious by many, and rightfully so (after all, why would any reasonable person want to pray to the devil?), such horrible acts are being spoon fed to children through so many outlets…often without parents even realizing it!

Here are a few examples below.

The old Cartoon Network show “Johnny Bravo” had an episode where he mistakenly went to a black magic store and got placed under a spell by a witch, causing him to shrink to microscopic size. Well, when you listen to what the witch said when she was doing her spell, it was shockingly similar to how black magicians actually do their spells: invoke evil beings to do their dirty work.

And on another show “Ed Edd n Eddy,” also from Cartoon Network, the character Eddy does a fortune telling scam where he invokes “spirits of the underwood”. Admittedly, he doesn’t say the underworld but instead says underwood. This probably was to make it a bit more kid-friendly. But the writers of the show couldn’t have picked anything else? Did it HAVE to be satanic in nature to begin with?

And of course, who could forget the evil witch Maleficent from Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” where she calls upon all the powers of hell to turn into the dragon near the end? It certainly was scary for me growing up in a house where Disney movies were a favorite pastime for my family.

It’s like they’re trying to indoctrinate children with this polytheism! Whether or not it is intentional, we may never know. But one thing is for sure: this is not the kind of stuff kids should be watching. Most of television isn’t appropriate for kids. Children may be very innocent and even ignorant of the horrible things often shown in cartoons, but seeing such things can be very problematic. They become numb to these awful practices. And when they get older, they see movies where magic happens and they think it’s fun to watch.

Well, for all new parents out there reading this, let’s try something: do to not let your kids watch these movies or any movies at all. Teach them to read nonfiction stuff as much as possible. Have educational lectures playing on the speakers when you drive. Teach them why magic is horrible and satanic. Teach them about worshiping Almighty God Alone without partners and to despise the devil and his demonic minions. Then once they get to their teenage years, try showing them a scene from one of these movies and see how they react. I can almost guarantee that they’ll be shocked that things like this is being shown to kids everyday in television shows and in movies.

Giving Your Spouses Their Rights

For much of history, the general role of husband and wife has been fairly consistent. The husband works and feeds the family. The wife stays home and takes care of the home and the children. However, for a long time, there were practices in families that were very common that were actually highly unethical.

Women were treated like trash, so much so that having a daughter was considered an abomination. Having a daughter was so bad, it was thought, that fathers would bury their young daughters alive because they wanted a son so badly. And women who didn’t suffer this fate still risked facing treatment from other men because women were essentially treated as second class. Not to mention the idolatry and grave worship that was common in so many places.

Then Islam came and things started to change.

With the arrival of Islam and the prophethood being given to the Messenger Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, he taught that idolatry and grave worship were things that Almighty God despised. Eventually, such practices became illegal when the Divine Law of God was established. But something else changed too under Islam: women were given rights never heard of before in much of society.

Women were regarded as equal in the eyes of God. They were given the right to own property. And having daughters was considered a blessing. Among many other things. People began to understand the importance of women in society. People began to respect and value the role of women as much as men. They weren’t just housewives anymore. They were people with rights.

But sadly even though Islam commands respect and just treatment for women, there are still people, even in Muslim lands, who prefer to stick to the old treatment of women from their cultures rather than what Islam says.

Well, let’s be clear: the majority of cultural practices are manmade practices! But Islam is from God Himself! If you prefer your culture over what God commands, then that could very easily become an act of polytheism. Why? Well, it’s because we could fall into believing that our culture is better than what God commands! And that becomes shirk (making partnership with God) if we get to that point!

Therefore, give your spouses their rights. Treat them with respect. Remember that men are not superior to women. And women are not superior to men. We are equal in the eyes of Almighty God. That doesn’t mean we were made the same way physically, mentally, or emotionally. We are, after all, different genders.

Men have some rights over women but women also have some rights over men. Women, for example, are not obligated to attend Friday prayer services. Men are. Likewise, men are required to let their beards grow, but if a woman has any facial hair (which is unlikely but is known to happen sometimes) she is not required to have it. In fact, she should shave it. These are just some of the countless examples out there.

But the bottom line is that our spouses are not our servants. They’re our partners. Marriage is a partnership. So when you deny your spouse their rights, you are defying God. The reason is because God commands it that we give our spouses the rights and respect they deserve. Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, said in a narration that the best among men are those that treat their wives the best. This means don’t beat them. Heck, it means don’t even raise a hand at them!

This also means be kind to them. Don’t verbally abuse them. Don’t abuse them at all. Again, brothers, our wives are not our slaves. So don’t treat them as such. Treat them like royalty. Like queens. A common man would be tackled by security if he even laid a hand on a queen! Treat your wives like royalty, like they have a bodyguard watching over them all the time. Remember: they do! They have God watching over them! And if you mistreat your wife, then you will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment!

Raise Your Kids Upon the Truth, Not Falsehood!

Having children brings a lot of blessings into our lives. We’re not just having a baby. We are raising a person. We’re raising the next generation who will lead the world when our generation dies. This is why it’s vital to raise children upon the truth, not upon falsehood!

Raising children is difficult. But this doesn’t excuse us from the obligation to raise children upon the way of tawheed. In other words, no matter what, raising kids upon the way of worshiping Almighty God without partnership in any way or form is essential. Since most public schools these days aren’t going to provide that type of education, it’s essential nowadays especially in the West that we either send our kids to a proper Islamic school or homeschool our children.

Why won’t public schools in the West provide an acceptable education? Well, let’s be real: they are designed to teach kids about reading, writing, and mathematics. And that’s fine. However, in recent decades they are also emphasizing science as well. And while learned science is nothing to be ashamed of, many schools nowadays are telling kids that humans and apes both evolved from a common ancestor. This directly contradicts the fact that Almighty God created the first man with His Own Hands. And public schools are also actively promoting acceptance of homosexuality more and more.

This kind of homosexual garbage is not something our children should be learning! But in the United States, at least two states now require classes about homosexuality: California and New Jersey. And more states are trying to follow suit with these homosexuality classes. Or, as they call them: LGBTQ classes. And with America’s separation of religion and state, science classes are heavily promoting the secular scientific narrative of how humans came to exist on Earth. With many science teachers very supportive of this narrative, many science teachers will promote it as if it’s the only way humans came about. And this confuses many young people who grew up learning about Almighty God and His Prophets.

Even if you teach your kids to not listen to these types of lessons and to only follow the teachings of the Qur’an and the Sunnah, they still are put under a lot of pressure from peers and even teachers to conform to Western secular values. So if you can, homeschool your kids so they are always taught according to proper Islamic values. But even if you can’t homeschool them their entire school life, at least do so until they get to high school. At least then they’ll have the foundation to refute the false narratives being propagated in the public school system.

You Are What You Do!

It’s pretty simple. You are what you do. And the reason is simple: what you spend your days doing is going to be what defines you. And it’s what do that will ultimately define your status in the eyes of Almighty God on the Day of Judgment. If you spend your days worshiping God without partners and doing so in such a way that the Prophets of Almighty God would do, then your status in the eyes of God will most likely be that of someone who submitted to the Will of Almighty God. That’s what a Muslim is. A Muslim is who submits his or her will to the Will of the One Almighty God.

Whereas if you spend your days smoking weed and not taking your worship seriously, your status in the eyes of God will most likely be that of a criminal who was negligent of his acts of worship. Obviously only Almighty God knows what His judgment will be. But that doesn’t negate the fact that what you do in this life determines what happens to you in the next life. Don’t think, however, that your actions are what get you to Paradise. Ultimately it will only be by the mercy of Almighty God that we will get to eternal bliss in Paradise. But our actions will be a deciding factor in whether Almighty God chooses to show mercy to us or not.

The only way your good actions will NOT benefit you is if you die associating partners with Almighty God. The non-Muslims are in this category. Of course, that doesn’t mean every single non-Muslim will automatically be in the Hellfire. Almighty God is the One Who is Entirely Merciful, but He is also the One Who is Entirely Just.

God will look at everything: whether or not you knew what Islam was and still rejected it, whether you were morally righteous and not a criminal, and everything. But the difference between Muslims and non-Muslims in this regard is that for non-Muslims, your good deeds will not serve any benefit so your fate will be ENTIRELY up to Almighty God. This is because the act of associating partnership with God is so extremely serious that it nullifies all other good deeds.

In closing, it should be clear by now that you are what you do. So it is only wise for us all to good acts purely for the sake of pleasing Almighty God Alone and to worship Almighty God Alone without ascribing any partners to Him. Live your life this way according to Almighty God’s Law. According to the way of Islam. And, if God wills, you will be successful in this life and in the next life.

Movies are Tools of Misguidance

If we live in developed nations, then chances are we all probably have seen a movie at some point or another. Chances are most of us who have seen a movie loved the entertainment of the story, the special effects, and almost every bit of it. But is it worth your time? As it turns out, it most definitely is not.

Whether you watch Hollywood movies or movies from any other cinema empire, there’s a very good chance it may have at least some forbidden content in it. Whether it’s a love scene with too much detail, the taking of an innocent life, background music, or even something as dangerous as a scene involving polytheism, movies today almost all have it. Even if it’s not all movies, it’s still likely no less than 99.9% of movies that have things no one should be seeing.

Let’s look at some examples.

Take Marvel, for example.

Marvel movies have a long history of polytheism in them. One of the most popular characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is Thor. The character explicitly is called the god of thunder and is based on Norse pagan mythology. And the enemy of Thor and many other characters in the MCU is his adopted brother Loki, the god of mischief. And let’s not forget Dr. Strange, whose character is a sorcerer practicing what’s in reality just black magic. Pure polytheism in these first three examples. And millions of people, including children and teenagers, watch these films every year.

But let’s not just look at the MCU.

What about the movies based on DC Comics? Wonder Woman is a heroine from Greek mythology. Though not a goddess in the movies and comics, her story regularly includes appearances from Hades, the Greek god of the underworld, and Ares, the Greek god of war. Not to mention it makes references to Athena, the Greek goddess of justice and wisdom, and Hera, the Greek goddess who was the god Zeus’s wife. This is just more heresy being glorified in Hollywood. And yet, Wonder Woman is considered to be a fictional role model for millions of girls in the West.

And though many might say it’s just for fun and entertainment, look at it this way: what is fun about acting as if Almighty God had many partners??? Is it something meant to be enjoyed? No. It’s a very, very serious thing to fall into. A very dangerous act too. It’s essentially glorifying and adoring polytheism. And that’s not something we should be promoting to our children.

For all these reasons, it’s highly advisable to get out of watching movies completely. They almost all contain something that is not good for anybody to be watching. And that something generally involves sin and disobedience to God. If you are addicted to movies and just cannot get out of watching them, then do it slowly. Watch content with less bad content. Read summaries of the movie plots before watching them to be sure. Gradually watch less and less movies until you stop completely.

Are Protests The Answer to Addressing Racism?

In recent days, there have been riots and protests across the United States in response to racism in this country after yet another black man named George Floyd was murdered by a white police officer. But often, many of these protests have reportedly been going from peaceful to violent and have been leading to clashes with police, the looting of shops, and numerous cases of destruction of property.

Well, here at Daily Bit of Truth, we swore never to sugarcoat the truth. We swore to tell the full truth even if it hurts some people’s feelings. And tonight that’s what we’re going to do just like always.

And the truth is that protests are not the answer! Look, people are angry about racism. That’s totally understandable. But protesting in the streets is not going to solve the problem of racism. Protests by definition fuel our anger. They get people’s emotions riled up. This is why the scholars of Islam have said they are not permissible.

It’s not just the fact that we are mixing with the opposite sex in such gatherings. It’s not just the fact that protests fuel people’s anger. It’s not just the fact that protests often lead to unstable situations like the rioting and looting we are seeing now. But also, it’s the fact that protesting is an innovated practice that has no place in Islam.

Look at how Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, eradicated racism from the hearts of his community: he didn’t chant and march in the streets with his companions. Rather he taught the people about tawheed and invited them to it. Meaning he focused on inviting people to worship God to His Oneness rather than associating partnership with God.

What does following tawheed have to do with eliminating racism? Well, it has everything to do with it. Once we understand and acknowledge that Almighty God created mankind with differences and that God Alone is the One worthy of worship, and once we devote our lives to worshiping Almighty God correctly, we will be able to eliminate any racial biases we have.

So please, if you want to change the world and eliminate the problem of racism, it starts with educating the people about the Oneness of God. Not with protesting. Protesting may change a law or two, or it may get a government official to resign. But let’s be honest: it won’t do anything to eliminate the problem of racism. By protesting, you’re just committing a wrong to correct a wrong. Two wrongs don’t make a right, as the saying goes.

So if there are protests going on in your city, just stay home. Rather than just putting a bandage on the wound, focus instead on fixing the wound so it doesn’t come back again. Educate your family and your community about the eternal Greatness of Almighty God. Invite them to worship Almighty God Alone without partners. At the end of the day, God does not fix the condition of a community until the people in that community fix the condition within themselves first.

Declining Family Values in the West? Why?

There is nothing wrong with being a virgin until marriage. It’s also good to not have kids outside of wedlock. And there is definitely nothing wrong with marrying someone from the opposite sex. In fact, that’s what you SHOULD do! These are part of long-standing traditional values that have been held in Western nations for thousands of years: marriage being between a man and a woman, children being born within wedlock, etc. So why are these marital and family values declining so rapidly in the West?

Well, there are a lot of factors. But the main one appears to be a rise in secular tendencies among many religious groups. Even among believers in the truth. The truth, of course, being Islam. And the reason for this rise in secular, modernist values over traditional, religious values is because as believers in the truth, we ourselves have neglected practicing and promoting the truth.

For centuries, we as Muslims were united under a single Islamic entity known as the Caliphate. And this was because even if our community wasn’t the absolute best with practicing Islam, still overall our community as a whole was still more much practicing than it is today. This kept the Caliphate in tact for 1300 years and still relatively united. And Almighty God gave the Muslims countless victories over the disbelievers, only because we followed His religion. We followed the truth and we practiced it!

This led to the Christian-majority nations of the West competing with the Muslims. Not just in worldly matters like conquest, but also in maintaining a religious identity. The Muslims were victorious for so long because of their adherence to religious values. No doubt Christian leaders in Europe also wanted to maintain their religious influence among the people. After all, they had to be better than the Muslims, at least in their view. It was an ideological war between truth and falsehood.

However, when we as Muslims began neglecting our faith and abandoning our obligations, Almighty God took away our victories for neglecting Him! God even said in the Noble Qur’an in chapter 13, verse 11 that He only changes the condition of a community when the people change themselves. And this goes both ways. When we go astray ourselves, our community eventually goes downhill and loses any chance of victory. Likewise, when we rectify ourselves and follow the way of Islam, our community will get better as well and victory will be given to us again!

So what does this have to do with declining family values? Simple: when the West saw the Muslims leaving their religious values for secular values and even trying to imitate the disbelievers, they had won. But this meant they had no one to compete with anymore on the religious front. Therefore, they slowly began to experience the effects of not following traditional religious values. Now these values are pretty much obsolete: homosexuality and fornication are common and widespread, failed marriages and divorces are at an all-time high, children are being born out of wedlock, among other things!

But don’t lose hope just yet. As Muslims, we can still maintain these traditional values that God’s religion brings to the world. If anything, this day and age presents the PERFECT opportunity to show how much better Islam is over disbelief!

While people fornicate and engage in other abominable acts, use the opportunity to show Islam to the people. Tell them you prefer to remain a virgin until you find a suitable wife (if you’re a man) or husband (if you’re a woman), just as God commanded us rather than following the secular way. When people come to you with their children born out of wedlock, use the opportunity to tell them about Islam. Tell them you want to have children within wedlock as God commanded us unlike what secularism teaches.

And this approach doesn’t just apply to disbelievers!

When you see non-practicing Muslims, take the same approach! Islam will never prevail until we start following Islam to the best of our ability and advising others to do the same. As Almighty God told us in the Noble Qur’an, we must enjoin good and forbid evil and not be ashamed to say, “I am from the Muslims.” Today people are proud of their disbelief. Some people even make this pride in their disbelief into a public mockery of Islam by driving around with bumper stickers that have the Arabic word “Kafir” which refers to a disbeliever. As if disbelief in the truth is something to be proud of.

Bottom line: follow the truth of Islam and be proud that you’re following the truth! Encourage others to follow the truth of Islam as well. And practice what you preach. Remember that following the truth, which is Islam, is an honor and it’s a sign of Almighty God’s love for you. Don’t let the disbelievers and the hypocrites tell you otherwise! They’re misguided.

Atheists Say Believers Reject Most Gods But Not All – Is This Accurate?

Recently there has been a seemingly-well-thought-out argument by notorious atheists like Richard Dawkins and others that has confused people who actually believe in Almighty God. The argument goes like this: people who believe in God have disbelieved in all gods throughout history; atheists just disbelieve in one more.

Why are we discussing an atheist argument today? Well, this argument has confused many people who believe in Almighty God and left some unable to effectively respond to it. Even those who are able to respond, they haven’t been able to effectively get the truth across for those who need to hear it.

The reason for this drawback is simple: this argument is short. It can be summed up in a single post of no more than two sentences. Whereas to explain the truth in pure monotheism in just a sentence or two is impossible for many people. So what can we do? If you want an argument in response to this, just say, “That’s true. We reject all false gods in favor of the Creator of the universe, who is the Only One worthy of worship. It doesn’t matter what name you call Him.”

Why would we acknowledge an atheistic argument as true, you may wonder? Well, the answer is actually not what you may think. See, this atheistic argument actually doesn’t discredit religion or belief in God at all. Rather the argument makes it seem like every religion is equally as legitimate as a lack of religion. This doesn’t negate any religion per se, but it does seem (at first) to contradict the notion that one religion is true and others are false. It’s more a distraction to catch us off guard.

As believers in pure monotheism, we know that Islam is the truth. But how do we address this argument to show one Islam is truer than any other faith? We just have to show how pointless this atheistic argument really is. For example, you could say, “All vegetarians reject animal products except some, but vegans in particular reject all animal products.” Or you could say, “Many people have no external reproductive organs except one, but women in particular have no external reproductive organs at all.”

The bottom line is not to show one argument is more true than another. All three of the above-mentioned arguments are technically true. As believers, we do in fact reject all false gods in favor of the One Almighty God. Likewise, women do in fact have no reproductive organs outside their bodies. And likewise, vegans do in fact reject all animal products. But that doesn’t prove anything in terms of truth of beliefs. It merely shows the difference in what believers say compared to what atheists say.

We don’t have to do a long post about why Islam is the truth. We don’t have to make a long case for why God is real. And we generally shouldn’t. The reason is most people are short in their attention span on social media. One tweet is all it takes before people either share or just continue scrolling. If it catches your eye, then you might end up sharing it. Otherwise, you’ll likely just move on.

So in closing, if we want to counter this problematic trend of disbelief, we just have to show how ridiculous the arguments of disbelief really are. And whenever this argument from the atheists is used, just say, “Yes. We do reject all false gods, in favor of the Creator of the universe. The Creator is the only one worthy of worship.”

Ramadan Series – Days 5 and 6: Advice for After Ramadan

As this blessed month draws to a close with roughly just four days or so left before the end-of-Ramadan celebration known as Eid ul-Fitr, it’s more important than ever to make changes if we haven’t already. Here’s some helpful advice on how to make sure this month doesn’t go to waste: if you were more practicing this month, then keep practicing for life.

This may sound pretty obvious to some people. However, it needs to be said. Here why: many Muslims weren’t practicing before Ramadan. Now, with Ramadan going on, many have started practicing their Islam. They’ve been reading and even reciting the Noble Qur’an more. They’ve stopped mixing with the opposite gender. They’ve quit going to bars and nightclubs. They’ve let their beards grow. Among other things.

But once Ramadan ends, many will sadly go right back to their old habits. Well, don’t. And there are many reasons for this. For the sake of time, though, here are the main two reasons worth mentioning.

Firstly, it’s for your own eternal benefit. Ultimately, the greatest reward is with Almighty God. But doing forbidden acts can end you in the Hellfire for eternity. We only make it to Paradise through the mercy of Almighty God.

Well, if we keep doing forbidden acts like it’s no big deal, then we are risking God not showing us mercy! Is it really worth it to take a chance like that? Of course not! So we must do everything we can to attain God’s mercy. Do only what is permissible. And if you slip up, then don’t fret it. Just repent and try not to do it again.

And secondly, many Muslims complain about the oppression of other Muslims worldwide. They want to change things worldwide, but they don’t want to start with their own selves first. Think about it: our mosques are generally empty at dawn. These are the houses of Almighty God! They’re built so God can be worshiped in them.

Remember that the oppression of Muslims worldwide is only happening because we have neglected our Islam for so long as a community! Do we honestly expect Almighty God to lift the humiliation facing our community and give us victory against the enemies of Islam whilst we don’t even fulfill our obligations to Him? No!

So let’s use these last few days to commit to changing ourselves! Let’s fulfill our obligations all year long. Let’s follow what God wants us to do all year long! Let’s live by the way of Islam all year long! Let’s do it! Now!

Ramadan Series – Day 4: Jihad While Fasting?

In this blessed month of Ramadan, many of us probably know the major aspects of fasting such as no eating or drinking during daylight hours. But did you know any negative talk could very well invalidate your fast as well? Yep. That’s right. It very well could.

The Messenger of Almighty God known as Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, once said in a narration attributed to him that God is not in need of our fasting if we can’t even leave negative talk such as complaining and talking harshly. This is why many practicing Muslims when faced with harsh words will often respond with, “Sorry, I’m fasting.”

And it is not only a requirement to abstain from these things. It’s a rewardable act. In mays ways, it’s a type of jihad, or struggle. And jihad is a highly noble act in Islam. No, not the violence shown in the media falsely labeled as jihad. Jihad is any type of struggle done for the purpose of pleasing Almighty God, whether it’s a military struggle, a moral struggle, or any other type of struggle.

So how is not complaining during fasting a type of jihad? Well, it’s definitely hard for many people. They’re hungry and thirsty, and the urge to complain and whine about how hungry you are is pretty strong. We have to use willpower to overcome that urge. So by actively resisting any urge to complain, we are engaging in a struggle within ourselves.

Even the Prophet’s companions would say that staying away from eating or drinking wasn’t the hardest part. For them, the hardest part of fasting was not complaining or talking negatively during fasting. So it was a form of internal jihad even for the companions to not complain while fasting. Do you think they weren’t getting rewarded for their perseverance? There is not a shred of doubt that they were being rewarded.

So while it may seem like an outlet for us to complain about how hungry we are, remember that it could invalidate your fast. Think of it like this: by not eating and not complaining about it, you’re exercising your ability to be content with what you have already. And in the process, you become more humble and still get rewarded in the Hereafter for it.

Ramadan Series – Day 3: Practicing During Ramadan and Afterward!

Let’s be honest: many Muslims practice the way of Islam during Ramadan. But for too many Muslims, it ends right there. They practice this month, and then once it ends, they go back to old bad habits.

While it’s certainly better to practice for a month than not to practice at all, going back to nog practicing actually goes against the nature of Ramadan. Muslims are supposed to avoid all forbidden practices, especially when fasting. However, just because the requirement to fast stops at the end of Ramadan, it doesn’t mean these forbidden practices become permissible.

You still have an obligation to pray. You still have an obligation to steer clear of any unlawful sexual relations. You still have an obligation to let your beard grow if you’re a man. You still have an obligation to wear modest attire. You still have to wear the hijab if you’re a woman. Everything that was forbidden in Ramadan is still forbidden now, with the exception of eating and drinking and practicing intimacy with your spouse.

So with all of this is mind, why do we leave practicing as soon as Ramadan ends? Do people think these obligations cease to exist? No. They don’t cease to exist! They still are obligatory things to follow! Don’t let the wicked one known as the Devil deceive you into thinking otherwise. Don’t be a Ramadan only Muslim. Be a full time Muslim. 24 hours a day. 7 days a week.

Ramadan Series – Day 2: Charity in Ramadan

In this blessed month of Ramadan, fasting is not the only part of it. Charity plays an important role as well. One of the Five Pillars of Islam is zakat. Zakat is a mandatory amount of charitable giving. And zakat is usually collected during Ramadan.

While the minimum amount Muslims are required to give in charity is 2.5% of whatever we own, we are encouraged to give as much as we can to charity. We must consider the hardship and hunger of those with less than us.

During Ramadan, the reward of all good deeds are multiplied. So charity becomes even more important for us as Muslims. As do other acts of worship and righteousness.

So in closing, as the month of Ramadan comes into it’s final week or so, be sure to make the most of it. Give more to charity than just the bare minimum; give some extra food items to your local food bank or donate some extra cash to the local mosque or a legitimate Islamic organization. Increase your acts of worship to be more than just the five mandatory prayers; do some optional Sunnah prayers as well.

And once Ramadan is over, keep at it! Use this month to start new good habits that last beyond this month only! Ramadan isn’t a time to do more acts of worship just so we can leave them once it’s over; it’s a time to make changes for the better that last a lifetime. So keep the acts of charity going.

Ramadan Series – Day 1: Purpose of Fasting

In this blessed month of Ramadan, many people fast. Over a billion Muslims worldwide abstain from eating and drinking during daylight hours for the entire month. But the question many people ask is, “Why do they fast?”

Well, the main reason Muslims are required to fast is to attain something called taqwa. This refers to consciousness of Almighty God. We are well aware that God exists already, but by abstaining from food and drink we grow in this awareness by remembering the blessings God has given us.

One of these blessings is nourishment. So by remembering that Almighty God is the sole provider of such nourishment, we grow in our level of consciousness of Almighty God.

Some people say the purpose of fasting is to remember the poor. And while this is true, it is not the main core reason. The main reason is to attain taqwa. In this day and age, it’s easy to get carried away when it comes to food. In many western countries, it’s widely available. Fasting gives us an opportunity to remember Almighty God and to be conscious of Him.

DBOT Announcement: Ten Days of Sharing the Beauty of Ramadan

The last ten days of the blessed month Ramadan are almost here. During one particular day in these last ten days, we as Muslims know that Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, received the first revelation of the Noble Qur’an. (We don’t know which of the ten days it occurred on. We just know it was during this ten-day period.)

And because the first revelation of the Qur’an was revealed on that day in Ramadan, you could say this day lays the foundation of Ramadan’s significance. And that particular day is known as “Laylat ul-Qadr” or the Night of Decree.

But even as these last ten days get closer, there’s a lot about Ramadan that isn’t known amongst the non-Muslims. So as promised on the first night of this blessed month, here at Daily Bit of Truth, we are devoting those last ten days to promoting the beauty and the truth about this blessed month of Ramadan. This will start on May 13 and end on May 23, if Almighty God wills.

Making the Most in the Lands of Disbelief

We’ve probably heard at some point or another that America is a Christian nation. While this isn’t entirely true due to American laws banning preferential treatment of any religion over others, one thing is for certain. And that is that America is a nation where the majority of people identify as Christian.

As people who are believers in the truth of the pure monotheism of Islam, we are a minority in America. Same with probably every other Western nation. As Muslims, we follow the truth, though, even as a minority. In fact, throughout the Qur’an, it’s clear that the minority are upon the truth. Almighty God uses phrases in the Qur’an such as “though most of them don’t believe” or “though most of them still don’t believe” in this regard. (At least after translating the original Arabic into English anyway.)

So with this in mind, how do we as Muslims reconcile with living in a land of falsehood? Well, the first thing to note is that if you cannot reconcile it and if you worry about not being able to live by Islamic teachings in a non-Muslim-majority land, then in such cases, it’s better to move to a land where you can do so.

This doesn’t mean you have to move to another country necessarily. You can move to another city or state where the Muslims are greater in number and where people are more accepting of Islam and Muslims being in there area. A particular land is not always confined to specific geographic borders.

However, if you are one who is strong in his faith and has decent knowledge of Islamic teachings, then it may be beneficial to live in a disbelieving land, even as counterintuitive as it may sound. That’s because the Muslim’s only reason to move to a non-Muslim land is to benefit the people and to share the way of Islam.

Sharing the way of Islam is what the Prophets of Almighty God did on a regular basis. This is also what Prophet Muhammad’s companions, may God be pleased with them, did when some of them were forced to migrate to modern-day Ethiopia when they were persecuted and threatened for practicing the way of Islam. They invited the king of what is now Ethiopia to the way of Islam, to the point that the king actually starting crying tears of joy upon hearing some verses of the Qur’an being recited.

Well, Ethiopia was a non-Muslim land. Yet the Muslims were granted safe refuge there and were allowed to practice Islam and share it with the people.

This is what we need to do in America and other lands of disbelief. Our ultimate goal should be to share Islam until worship is for Almighty God Alone without any partners, but obviously we cannot force people to accept Islam. Our goal should not be to move to the West simply due to better job opportunities. While there’s nothing wrong about getting a better job, this should not be our primary objective.

So in closing, this is what we must do if we continue to live in lands of disbelief. We must invite the people to Islam until it becomes a land of belief. Our reasons should be to please Almighty God, not the people. We must not compromise on our values as Muslims. We must stick with Islam and it’s teachings, and we must not budge. No question about that.

Many of the Heroes Among Us Are Polytheists – Why this Matters

It has been said – and rightly so – that in the midst of this coronavirus pandemic, the essential workers are heroes. And this is true. They put themselves on the front lines, putting themselves at risk willingly to get the essential things done for everyone. However, despite their dedication and heroism, it will be serve them no benefit on the Day of Judgment if they are not believers and followers of the Truth.

This truth, of course, is that there is none worthy of worship except the One Almighty God. They may be people of faith but ultimately it means nothing if they commit acts of polytheism and die in that state of disbelief. The reality is that polytheism, or the act of associating partners with Almighty God, does not only nullify any good deeds you do. It is also greatest crime of all against God.

Sadly, many of the essential workers are disbelievers in the pure Oneness of Almighty God. Some essential workers are believers in the pure monotheism of Islam. But many are not. This is why it is essential to convey the message of Islam to them. It’s on them whether they accept it or reject it. But we still have a moral and religious obligation to share Islam with the people.

Remember that Almighty God is One and One Only! He’s the Only One worthy of total and absolute obedience. The Only One worthy of worship. Nothing in the creation even remotely resembles Him. And when He tells us to do something, we are follow if no matter what it is.

So if God tells us to lash the fornicator, then we must do so. If God tells us to stone the adulterer to death, then we must do so. If God tells us to pray five times a day to Him, then we must do so. Only because God told us to. And one thing that Almighty God told us to do is to call others to worship Him and obey Him without any ascribing any partners to Him. This is pure monotheism. This is the truth.

And yet so many heroes today, including the numerous essential workers, are believers in falsehood. They are believers in polytheism. And again, that’s the greatest crime of all against God. It is so incredibly serious that it completely nullifies any good they may do. If they die upon that state, then they are at risk of eternal punishment in the Hellfire. Ultimately their fate at that point will be entirely up to Almighty God. But the good they did will be useless without belief in the pure monotheism only found in Islam.

We all want to follow what’s correct. Well, it’s not polytheism that’s correct. Whether it’s Christianity, Judaism, Sikhism, Hinduism, Wicca, or anything else, these all contain elements of polytheism. Except for Islam. Islam is the only way of life that rids us all of and require us to distance ourselves from false gods and polytheistic ideas. So we must call people to the way of Islam. We must teach others about Islam.

“Homeland” is Finally Over But Its Islamophobic Message is Still Alive

After years on TV screens across the United States spent fueling the narrative of Islamophobia and the ongoing so-called war on terror, the popular show “Homeland” has finally come to an end. The show was criticized at times – and rightfully so – for fueling a false narrative about Islam and Muslims.

“Homeland” was particularly notorious because it often portrayed Muslims in only two ways: as terrorists or as people working with the U.S. government. In other words, the show used the same strategy that many shows also use to get high ratings nowadays: Islamophobia.

This was evident throughout many episodes.

The first season dealt with an American prisoner of war who’d been turned into a terrorist while in captivity. Even though later on the show depicted the American government turning him into a double agent going after terrorists, it still did nothing to counter the false narrative of “you’re either with America or you’re with the terrorists.”

Another episode showed the son of a Taliban leader trying to lead the CIA to his father (the son being a double agent working for the Americans), only to be killed by his father (the father being a terrorist) before the CIA lost track of the Taliban leader’s whereabouts. Once again, the message portrayed is that you’re with America or you’re with the terrorists.

If there is one thing that is clear in all of this, then it’s that “Homeland” did nothing to counter the narrative of Islamophobia. They only continued to fuel it.

Here are the facts, though.

The vast overwhelming majority of Muslims both in America and abroad do not support America’s policies in Muslim lands. But that’s it. It’s the policies that America is imposing that Muslims are against. We are not against America’s freedoms. We are not against all Americans. I am an American citizen myself. And I love this country and what it has to offer. What I hate is the policies that America is imposing on Muslims in America and in other lands.

In that regard, Muslims worldwide tend to agree with me on that. For example, many Pakistanis love Pakistan but that doesn’t mean they hate America. Same with Africans, Arabs, Asians, etc. Most of them don’t hate America. They just hate when America flies planes and drones over their heads that could shoot missiles at them at any moment. They hate when American soldiers are in their lands with tanks and machine guns.

In light of this, there are many Muslims who despise American policies but also despise terrorism too. In fact, this is the majority of Muslims in other countries. So they would not collaborate with the United States in its policies but also would not support terrorism either. If anything, a great number of Muslims already speak out against both. They stand in support of justice for the oppressed. Not for one group over another group. And not for one country over another country. But rather for justice.

This was not the case as portrayed in “Homeland” though. And for many Americans who have never met a Muslim in their lives, the only image of Muslims they ever see is in the media and popular culture. And while this show may have ended, the image that it portrayed will remain no doubt. Unless something is done.

So what is it that must be done? Well, we must start by learning about Islam not from the media but from the sources of Islam itself: the Qur’an and the Sunnah. We must also study under qualified Islamic teachers and scholars who have dedicated their lives to studying Islam and teaching it to others.

We must also get involved in media. Write op-ed pieces for your local newspaper. Submit opinion pieces to news columns. Work for a local radio station. Call into radio stations, especially when they talk about Islam. We must get our voices out there as Muslims.

What is So Significant about Ramadan?

The time is upon us. Tonight marks the start of the blessed month of Ramadan this year. Around the world, 1.5 billion Muslims, or those who submit to the One Almighty God without making partnership with Him, observe this sacred month with prayer, charity, and fasting.

But why is it so sacred?

Well, in the Islamic calendar, Ramadan is the ninth month of the year. The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, which means it’s based on the cycles of the Moon, rather than the cycles of the Earth going around the Sun.

Ramadan is the month when our beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, received the first revelation of the Noble Qur’an from Almighty God. This marked the beginning of his prophethood and the beginning of revelation of the Qur’an. That’s why it’s so sacred. Ramadan is sometimes even called “the month of the Qur’an.”

During this month, we as Muslims observe fasting during daylight hours. We are forbidden to eat or drink during daylight hours from dawn to dusk, for the whole month. Once the sun sets, though, we can eat.

Sick people, pregnant women, young kids, people traveling on a journey, and certain others are exempted from fasting, though.

It is very hard. And that’s part of the point of fasting. As the day goes on, our bodies urge us to eat and drink. We must use self-restraint to avoid that. So the fast is like a practice run for having restraint in times of temptation during the rest of the year.

However, Ramadan isn’t just about food. During this month, all bad practices are meant to be avoided, even more so than the rest of the year. So much so that even complaining is enough to invalidate one’s fasting. Some of the Prophet’s companions even went as far as to say how not complaining was actually much harder than not eating or drinking. And many of them lived in the hot desert climate of the Arabian Peninsula.

Another important aspect of Ramadan is charity. In fact, one of the other reasons of fasting is to remember those who have less than us. We as Muslims are supposed to give as much as we are able to in charitable giving. In fact, zakat (mandatory charitable giving) is one of the Five Pillars of Islam that every Muslim is required to follow if able to do so. And zakat is collected during Ramadan, oddly enough.

In the beginning of a day in Ramadan, we as Muslims get up early. Even before the crack of dawn. We eat a pre-dawn meal called “suhoor.” As soon as the crack of dawn appears, marking the beginning of the prayer time of Fajr, we start the fast. And it lasts until the sun sets. We aren’t even allowed to drink water until then.

And then, at the end of each day of fasting, we as Muslims break our fast with water, milk, and sweet fruits called dates. We then pray the sunset prayer known as Maghrib, and then eat dinner together known as “iftar.” In fact, it is actually forbidden to pray Maghrib before breaking our fast! We have to break it first and then we can pray. The reason is so that we won’t think too much about food when we are supposed to be focusing on worshiping Almighty God.

There is much more to the month of Ramadan. This is why Daily Bit of Truth is dedicating a whole week to Ramadan information very soon. And without further delay, have a blessed Ramadan!

Los Angeles Hit by Yet Another Earthquake – But Why?

Today the city of Los Angeles, California was hit by an earthquake that rocked the city just after midnight, local time. It reportedly measured 3.7 on the Richter scale. This highlights a disturbing question that seems to be not being asked much: why do the earthquakes seem to be increasing in number worldwide?

There have been some indications that global warming and the subsequent melting of polar ice caps may be contributing to lightening the load of Earth’s tectonic plates, thus leading to more earthquakes. But this more an explanation of “how” it’s happening. What we do know is that the way it happened was that Almighty God willed for it to happen.

However, a better thing to ponder over is “why” it’s happening. And the best way to answer that? We have no idea. Almighty God knows best.

However, God gives us indications in the Qur’an and in the Sunnah as to what we can do to stop them. And no, it’s not re-freezing the polar ice caps or building a fancy machine to stop these earthquakes.

God tells us throughout the Qur’an and in several narrations attributed to His Messenger, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and God’s blessings be upon him), that whenever a calamity strikes, it is from what we as a community have earned for ourselves. Due to our acts of disobedience to Almighty God.

Whether it is due to supporting homosexuality, infighting, engaging in nationalism, or something else, we don’t know. But the moral here is that, while we may not know the exact sin that caused Almighty God to be angry with us, we all need to look within ourselves and repent for our sins and try our best not to go back to them.

This is why we must do better as a community. We must do better as Muslims. We must do better to follow and worship Almighty God in every single way. We must not pick and choose what we follow from God’s Law. And we must encourage and advise others to do the same. So when you do anything, do it in a way that is pleasing to Almighty God and not according to your own whims and desires. And do every good act for the sake of pleasing God Alone. Don’t wait till tomorrow. Start now.

Kim Jung-Un Reportedly in Frail Condition – Is This the End?

Unconfirmed reports surfaced yesterday that the leader of North Korea, Kim Jung-Un, was weak and in bad condition after reportedly having heart surgery. South Korean and U.S. intelligence officials have said they’re monitoring the situation.

Though the reports cited unnamed officials and were unconfirmed, Kim Jung-Un was reportedly absent from a public celebration of the birth of his grandfather Kim Il Sung on April 15. This is noteworthy considering it’s the isolated nation’s most important holiday usually marked by big military parades and satellite launches.

But, in a stunning twist, the North Korean leader was nowhere to be seen. This has fueled speculation about his health. Other than this, however, there has been no indication of anything unusual in the isolated state.

The communist nation has reportedly used very brutal tactics to silence dissent. Those who flee the oppressive regime often face a critical dilemma: either return home to face punishment or your family back home gets punished instead. Defectors are labeled as traitors. And North Korea has not been on good terms with the rest of the world for quite some time now.

These tactics used by the isolated country are nothing new. China uses similar tactics on the Uighur Muslims in occupied East Turkestan. Syria’s tyrant Bashar Assad does on his own people as well.

This is why the scholars of Islam have often said when you face oppression, do not speak ill of the tyrant rulers in their land or rebel against them. The loss of life and further oppression that results is far greater than any benefit that comes from rebelling.

This happened when the people in Syria rose against Assad in 2011. It happened in Yemen and Egypt as well. These lands are worse than they were before these uprisings.

So what does this have to do with Kim Jung-Un, you may be wondering?

Kim Jung-Un has reportedly been in frail condition. If such reports are true, then it is likely because people are praying to Almighty God for an end to him and his wretched tyranny. However, whether he’s in bad health or in the best health of his life, there is one thing that is absolutely certain: Kim Jung-Un will not be around forever. And that’s the point.

Rather than rebel against an oppressive ruler, we must pray to Almighty God that He ends the ruler’s reign of tyranny. We obviously don’t know how it will happen. Maybe God will give him a grave illness. Or maybe an vehicle accident will lead to his death. Or maybe the ruler will have a change of heart and stop his oppression. Nobody but Almighty God knows what will happen in the future.

But the moral is that we need to have trust in Almighty God. And we must pray for an end to oppression rather than take matters into our own hands to end it. And finally, need to follow what God commands of us as well and rectify ourselves before any change can happen.

Some might argue, “Come on, we need more than just prayer!” Well, that is nonsense. Do you even know the Eternal Might of the One you’re praying to? Are you that weak in your trust in Almighty God? Remember that God created this entire universe by His Own Will with no trouble to Him whatsoever. He can easily handle something here on Earth.

So rather than having a worldly view of things, let’s change our mindset and pray that Almighty God ends the oppression our brothers and sisters worldwide are facing. If Kim Jung-Un dies (and he will eventually), then it’s solely by the Will of Almighty God. And God can also will for other tyrants to end their oppression as well. Nothing happens except by God’s permission. And nothing can happen if God doesn’t allow it.

Rashida Jones’s Race – Does It Matter?

Recently there has been a lot of backlash involving the actress who once played Karen on “The Office” and is now playing a part-black woman on the new show “BlackAF” on Netflix. The backlash stems from the “seeming” reality that Rashida Jones is a white woman playing the role of a part-black woman.

This is quite problematic. And here’s a few reasons why.

Firstly, Rashida Jones is more than capable of playing this role both from her experience as an actress and from her roots as well. After all, her father is a black music mogul. Yeah, that’s right. Her father is a black man: Quincy Jones. He’s the one who gave then-rapper Will Smith the lead role on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” that ran for six years back in the 1990s.

Rashida Jones’s music mogul father Quincy Jones on the set of “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” with lead actor Will Smith.

This means Rashida Jones is more than qualified in terms of where her heritage comes from to have the role of a mixed race woman…because she already is a mixed race woman. But many people on social media have complained that she’s not “black enough” to have the role of a part-black woman.

As if having a black father isn’t enough already? Yeah right.

Even Barack Obama had a white mother and a black father. Does that mean he was not black enough to be the first black American president? Come on.

Just as a side note: Obama’s white mother Ann Dunham reportedly had a African-American slave in her ancestral background too, according to a study that was reported in The Washington Post. So it appears that Obama has black blood stemming from both sides of his family. Not just from his father’s side.

But even if Rashida Jones’s ancestors were all white-as-snow Europeans since before Columbus ventured across the Atlantic, there is nothing wrong with her playing a mixed-race character on a TV show. Why is that? Because race makes no difference on one’s inherent abilities or the lifestyle they choose to live.

The fact that we still have to point this out in 2020 is awful but sadly it’s also not surprising. Racial prejudice is still prevalent today in every group sadly. This whole backlash with Rashida Jones being apparently white and playing a black role is just that: racism.

Some might argue that this anger over the role she’s been picked for is due to her downplaying the prejudice that black people face in the West. This is somewhat baseless, though. Just doing some simple research on her family history will show she is half-black anyway. Her father no doubt experienced bigotry and discrimination himself even if Rashida didn’t experience it as much.

There is no evidence or study that would show any correlation between a person’s skin color and his or her native abilities. The amount of melanin that makes up a person’s skin color only contributes to that: their skin color. Nothing more.

This is why Prophet Muhammad said 1400 years ago in his Final Sermon on Mount Arafat his famous words on racial unity: “No Arab has any superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab over an Arab, and no white has any superiority over a black nor a black over a white…except in piety and good actions.” This should be proof enough since the Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, was the Final Messenger of Almighty God.

Whether Rashida Jones is a white woman or not is irrelevant as it makes no difference to her skills as an actress. The One and Only Almighty God created her with skin that looked white and He gave her immense talent as an actress. And the very fundamental nature of acting is to play the role of someone else. Race makes no difference in that if you can play the part well.

Why Brian Dennehy’s Legacy Will Be Meaningless

Today the world lost a profound actor on the stage and in films. Brian Dennehy was 81 years old when he passed away today in New Haven, Connecticut. The award-winning actor’s death was indeed a tragedy and a significant loss to the acting world. Many people were inspired by his work and no doubt some were inspired his work.

However, Dennehy’s death should come as no surprise. After all, death is inevitable for everyone. As Almighty God told us in the Qur’an, every soul is going to taste death. But the major question nobody seems to be asking is this: what will he truly leave behind forever in terms of a legacy?

Sure, he may leave an appearance in some movies that may still be seen on our TVs for a few generations. And he may have given to charity here and there. However, this will all probably be gone in a few generations. If you are doubtful of this, then just think back a few decades: how many celebrities from the 1950s, the ’60s, or even the ’70s do you remember the good actions of, let alone any celebrities from the centuries before then? Probably not many if any at all. But there were hundreds or even more back then. Yet they almost all have faded into the pages of history.

And Brian Dennehy will be no different. As the clown on the popular cartoon known as “The Simpsons” once said, “One day you’re the most important guy whoever lived; the next day you’re some schmo working in a box factory.”

However, don’t get too upset just yet, especially if you’re someone who wants to be famous. There are exceptions to this reality. And there is a way to have your name remembered in a way that actually does last forever. And this is it. We need to stop trying to please the people and start trying to please Almighty God. When God loves you and admires you, that’s what ultimately matters. But even then, there is a good chance for fame in this life as well as the next life.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, once said in a narration attributed to him that when God loves a person, He instructs the angels nearest to Him to love this person too. So much so that this love will be manifested on the Earth as well. The reason is because when God loves you, it will become apparent in your character and how you live your life and then from there, the people will love you too.

Some examples of this include a group of merchants from the historical Islamic Caliphate who traveled to Indonesia centuries ago. Well, at the time Indonesia was a non-Muslim majority country. These merchants lived, worked, and traded there by Islamic ethics and by Islamic Law, and the people in Indonesia were amazed by their upright moral character and righteous conduct. Within a few generations, the entire land of Indonesia embraced Islam completely on its own. It was one of the few lands that the Muslims never touched by conquest. Yet today more Muslims are in Indonesia than any other country in earth.

Other examples are the many companions of the Prophet Muhammad who are remembered today after over 1400 years and counting. And of course, there’s the Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, who was the mercy to mankind and is the most famous man on Earth even today.

So in closing, if you want to be famous and leave a lasting legacy behind that benefits others in both this life as well as the next life, then you need to obey Almighty God, you need to love Almighty God, and you need Almighty God to love you too. So be famous with Almighty God. After all, nothing else matters but Him.

Prophets are Not Gods

With the recent celebration of Easter this past Sunday in the Christian calendar, Christians worldwide celebrated the rising of Jesus, peace be upon him, into Heaven. However, this is problematic for a number of reasons.

For one thing, Christians think of Jesus as being not only the begotten son of Almighty God but also God in human form at the same time. This is the concept referred to as the Trinity. And the Trinity is basically polytheism with an extra step.

Additionally, along with this belief in Jesus being God, Christians also believe he was executed by the government of the Roman Empire on what’s known as Good Friday. The foundation of Easter Sunday comes from the Christian belief of Jesus coming back to life three days after Good Friday.

Why is this problematic, you may wonder? Well, firstly, Jesus was not Almighty God nor the son of God. Jesus was a Messenger of Almighty God. He was a Prophet as well. (All messengers are prophets too, but not all prophets are messengers.) How do we know this? Well, Jesus was created by God, for one thing. He was conceived miraculously in the womb of the Virgin Mary by the Will of God. If he is created, then by default he is not the Creator. He’s a creation of the Creator.

This celebration of Easter is also problematic because when Christians say Jesus was God and also say that he was executed, they’re saying that humans killed God. Well, obviously God doesn’t die! And by saying otherwise, this is a classic case of putting limits on God’s Eternal Might.

This is something we need to understand. Churches everywhere teach this to so many people from a young age, essentially indoctrinating them with this polytheistic doctrine. This doctrine is contrary to what Jesus himself taught along with all the other prophets.

Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, was given the Ten Commandments by Almighty God many centuries before Jesus was born. The first of these Ten Commandments is, “You shall not make any other gods with me.” There are no partners with Almighty God. There’s no begotten son of Almighty God or begotten daughter of Almighty God.

Bottom line: Almighty God is the One and Only God, the Creator of the Universe.

Now some might argue that that was the case in the Old Testament and that the New Testament is followed now instead. Well, how can one reject part of what God says and only accept some? You can’t do that as it’s picking and choosing what you like and rejecting what you don’t like.

For all these reasons, it makes no sense to deify Jesus as a partner of Almighty God. Rather it makes much more sense to adhere to the true message of Jesus that he actually taught: to worship Almighty God Alone without any partners. And this is what Islam teaches.

Take Advantage of Life Before Death

Everyone wants to enjoy life. This is something that none of us can deny. And there’s nothing wrong with this if we’re enjoying life in a righteous way and living according to good moral standards.

But the problem is when we want to live life as if it’s all the time we have. We see this mentality propagated often with people using phrases like “you only live once” or, as it’s commonly abbreviated, “YOLO.”

Well, this mentality is incorrect. For one thing, this life is not all there is. There is a life beyond this. And for another, it’s what we do in this life that determines what happens to us in the next life.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him, said in a narration that one of the five things we should advantage of before five other things is life before death. And he wasn’t saying live however you want by doing whatever you yourself want. Rather the Prophet was saying to live by what God wants before we die.

This is the correct mentality to have. Live your life according to what Almighty God wants. And more importantly, we must remember death often. And don’t be afraid of death. Everyone is going to face it anyway so it’s pointless to fear death. Every soul will taste death. So live your life in a way that God is pleased with since you don’t know when He will take your life away.

But how does God want us to live? By following His Commands and worshiping Him without any partners. This concept is called “tawheed.” And tawheed refers to the Oneness of God in every aspect. It’s pretty simple: worship the Creator Alone, and do not the creation. This is only found on Islam.

Every other way of life involves making partnership with God in some way or another, a concept known as shirk. In Judaism, they believe the soul of the Jewish man or woman is the soul of God. That’s shirk. In Sikhism, they believe your soul becomes one with God when you die. Shirk. In Christianity, they believe Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, is the begotten son of God. Shirk. Every single way of life involves shirk. Except one: Islam.

Have You Turned Your House into Home?

Here’s a question many likely have not considered: have you turned your house into a home? Really think about this. You might think they’re the same thing. But the reality is they’re very different. Or at least they can be.

A house is just a place to live in that you own. But a home is something much deeper. A home is a place where your family feels a sense of tranquility. A home is where temporary guests and permanent inhabitants alike feel welcome.

No one is saying you have the open up your door to compete strangers to call your house your home. But what have you really done to provide that sense of belonging? That sense of people feeling like they’re welcome to come by.

If your house is a complete mess when guests are present or even when your family is home, then is that really somewhere you’d want to be if you were in their shoes? Probably not. Therefore, take the time to clean up. Show your guests that you care about them.

If you are constantly yelling at your spouse in front of your kids, then do you think your children are going to want to be there? Probably not. Therefore, find ways to resolve marital disputes peacefully like grownups should do.

These are not simply things taught in the example of Almighty God’s Final Messenger known as the Prophet Muhammad, peace and God’s blessings be upon him. And these are not simply things taught from the Word of God known as the Qur’an either. (These lessons are found in these places, but that’s not the only place they’re found.) They’re also just plain common sense.
